Hey everyone, I was wondering about this functionality when duplicating boards. Why does penpot append a number on all items and all groups when duplicating the board? From what I can tell, the layer names don’t have to be unique, and when creating multiple versions of a board, it pollutes names of all layers with a number that references a different board. I usually rename these layers back by hand, but this seems very tedious.

This is something that we definitely want to change (here’s the story), but somehow it never make it into our prioritizaiton.
We’ll do it eventually. Also, we’re making a list of enhancements that appear to be good for contributions and this one seems to be a good candidate.
