The purpose of this topic is to see what feature requests the Penpot community would most like to see implemented. It is possible to vote for one feature requests for the moment, in addition, it is also possible to add your own feature request to the poll. To see more information about a feature request on the poll, right-click on the text and choose open link in a new tab.
To add a feature request to the poll please follow these steps:
Create a topic on the forum where you describe your feature request and where it can be discussed. Provide a clear topic name so other people know what feature is being proposed.
Ask in this topic to add your feature request and add the hyperlink/URL of your feature request topic.
Hey, the poll is currently a trial of my own, am in discussions with Penpot to develop it further. So currently it is not possible to add anything yet.
So that the feature requests are handeld on this forum and no longer on GitHub.
The existing feature requests ob GitHub that are not yet managed in Taiga can be inported in this forum. Afterwards the feature request on GitHub can be closed with a notification that its exported to the forum.
And possible move topics like this Better text formatting to the new category and include in the poll.
Since this is a workaround to use something similar to Upvoting, I suggest the following:
Create an additional category on the forum specifically for feature requests (now feature request is an sub category of “help us improve”, I suggest to make a main category). Provide a template that serves as a guide for setting up a feature request. Create a topic where people can post the link to their already posted feature request ( submitted on the forum or in GitHub).
In GitHub redirect people to the feature request category on the forum when they want to submit an feature request, here is how to do this.
Place a call to post the link of the already posted feature request in the created topic. In addition, give people the option to create a new feature request using the template in the feature request category on the forum and give 10 days to do so, for example. This can be done by placing a message on the forum and on channels below and possibly Penpot Product Hunt Shoutouts

After these e.g. 10 days create the Poll with all feature requests that people can vote for. From then on it is no longer possible to submit feature requests that end up on the Poll (this is because after 5 minutes it is no longer possible to edit the poll). Instead, feature requests submitted after the Poll is closed will be placed in a waiting list. Once the first Poll is considered completed after x amount of time, the top x enter Taiga. Then another poll is created this time with the proposals from the first poll that did not make it into the top x and the proposals that are in the queue. If necessary, the proposals that received no or bitterly few votes can be deleted. (This is a preview of how I see it, feel free to engage in discussion and possibly make your own proposal)
By following the above steps, you are actually doing all the groundwork if switching to, say, Forem where Upvoting is possible.
