Hi everyone ![]()
When we discussed our community plans just before 2025, we did mention the idea of an ambassador program. During Penpot Fest 2025, we have teased that it’s coming soon and here we are!
I’m very excited to share that the Penpot Ambassador Program is live and with so many unique ways to set it apart. Read all the details on our webpage or watch our video on YouTube and PeerTube!
To celebrate the launch, we are having Penpot Community Hours, 20 March at 3PM UTC, with the very first Penpot Ambassadors to cover every detail. Sign up to the event by filling out our short form and grab your seat.
What is the Penpot Ambassador Program and what makes it unique?
The ambassador program is a peer-to-peer learning network where designers, developers, educators come together and celebrate the open-source spirit holding it all together.
Unlike almost any other ambassador program, Penpot Ambassador Program offers a collaborative library where key takeaways and insights find their place.
The unique learning cycles with curated topics means this open library will keep evolving with evergreen content.
What are the requirements?
We don’t have an exhaustive list, or a list to begin with. Within the application form, you will find areas to tell us more about your experience, both from your line of work but also from community-building perspectives.
We want to see genuine interest and ability to demonstrate certain knowledge when it comes to topics around design, development, open-source and more.
How can I apply?
For now, we have a waiting list as an application process. There are four main reasons why we wanted to go with a wait list and let people in slowly:
- Offering equal resources to all ambassadors
- Aiming for a longer term impact with detailed planning
- Looking for genuine interest
- Trust, between both sides.
This is why we will be selecting new ambassadors once a few months. Everything sounds great? You can join the waiting list right away!
Penpot Community Hours returns on 20 March!
We will go over the Penpot Ambassador Program, the waitlist and answer any burning questions coming from the community. We will also introduce our very first Penpot Ambassadors: @Erioldoesdesign @catcatpot @Layshi_Curbelo @Louis @RenanMayrinckDesign @haveyouseenf
What are these events?
The goal of Penpot Community Hours is simple: Provide our community members an opportunity to feel even closer to Penpot, fire away questions, discuss set topics and more importantly, see each other on camera, yes!
House rules
Just like our ethos, we want these events to be as transparent and open as possible. While it’s our main goal to have a nice, relaxed time and chat, we also must make sure everyone feels comfortable. For that, we’ve put together these simple rules we’ll ask you to follow:
-
Our host will be moderating the sessions so please follow any instructions.
-
Please keep your mic on mute when others are talking and always “raise a hand” before saying something.
-
While each session will have a set agenda, we will always include generous Q&A time for all things Penpot. Please save your questions for the Q&A section unless they are relevant to what the speakers are discussing.
-
If there’s already an existing process for certain feedback (e.g. bug reports, feature requests) we will remind our attendees about them, should such questions come up. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to provide a locked-in timeline for such things.
-
The use of offensive language is strictly prohibited and we reserve the right to remove you from the session should that happen.
