Penpot Community Hours #2: Let's dive into contributions!

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

When we discussed our community plans late last year, we mentioned the concept of hosting online get-togethers for our beloved community members. Right after our first edition, I’m happy to announce the Penpot Community Hours #2 will happen 05 June 2025 at 15:00 UTC with myself, @elenatorro and @juan.delacruz!

What are these events? :mag:

The goal of Penpot Community Hours is simple: Provide our community members an opportunity to feel even closer to Penpot, fire away questions, discuss set topics and more importantly, see each other on camera, yes!

Who can join? :person_raising_hand:

Everyone! Penpot Community Hours is free, for all! The only thing we ask (mainly to be able to handle the bandwidth and ensure a friendly environment) is for you to sign-up to the events using a super simple registration form here.

Sign me up right meow! :tickets:

We will send you a calendar invitation once you complete the registration form and you will find the details of our session there.

(If you need help with timezones, please feel free to use this converter.)

What’s on the agenda? :clipboard:

What do design and development contributions look like in the world of open-source? More importantly, how can YOU contribute to the community?

Our Penpot Community Hours #2 will have Elena Torro and Juan de la Cruz joining us and we will do a deep dive into what contribution really looks like both at Penpot but for the open-source community.

We will also have a very relaxed Q&A session before wrapping things up.

House rules :scroll:

Just like our ethos, we want these events to be as transparent and open as possible. While it’s our main goal to have a nice, relaxed time and chat, we also must make sure everyone feels comfortable. For that, we’ve put together these simple rules we’ll ask you to follow:

  • Our host will be moderating the sessions so please follow any instructions.

  • Please keep your mic on mute when others are talking and always “raise a hand” before saying something.

  • While each session will have a set agenda, we will always include generous Q&A time for all things Penpot. Please save your questions for the Q&A section unless they are relevant to what the speakers are discussing.

  • If there’s already an existing process for certain feedback (e.g. bug reports, feature requests) we will remind our attendees about them, should such questions come up. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to provide a locked-in timeline for such things.

  • The use of offensive language is strictly prohibited and we reserve the right to remove you from the session should that happen.

Thank you and see you on 05 June!
