I’ve just recently joined the Penpot team as the Community and Events Lead and I can’t wait to get to know you. Firstly, let me briefly introduce myself.
I’m Medet, from the vibrant cat dominion of Istanbul. My background is communications, community and events, where I’ve spent the last five six years working specifically with designers and sometimes developers.
To that end, I previously worked at Sketch and Linearity where I was lucky enough to bring value driven projects that centred around peer-to-peer learning experiences. I see myself as a person who loves building and maintaining organic relationships.
As for the more exciting part of this post, I’m here to help the amazing community team at Penpot and make sure we keep offering you more and more stuff! With that, in a Penpot fashion, I’d love to hear from YOU first.
Please feel free to grab a slot from my calendar here so we can have a chat on how you see the community efforts at Penpot and what more can be done. I would also greatly enjoy getting to know you, your background and your stories. I’m all ears!
In the meantime, do drop me a line on anything you’d want to know more.
Thanks for the time we had to talk about the community and penpot.
It would be valuable to have some feedback of how this interviews have been going.
What input did you have from people? Are you planning some form of output (blog post, event or any other form)?
I have just concluded around a dozen interviews early this week. While you’ll see the results of them in the forms of various activities, I’m happy to do a mini sum-up.
The general consensus on our community and events efforts are highly positive. We will keep doubling down on being transparent, within reach and our Open Source ways.
You will probably see more of us or our local heroes of us in multiple regions, hosting in-person events next year.
We are already working on online social gatherings so that you can be even closer to the team and have nice chats, fire away questions, see some upcoming things and more.
About the forum, we plan to introduce new topic types to spark conversations and bump up the engagement levels.
We will look for ways to introduce a public platform where all our community members can get together to chat, share ideas, inspire one other and get to talk to the team, too!
Last but not least, we are currently in the process of taking the first steps towards and Ambassador Programme.
