Penpot 2.11: Brighter than gold ✨

This release brings one of our most anticipated design system upgrades: Typography composite tokens. They let you group all your text styles into a single reusable definition and mark the beginning of composite tokens in Penpot.

You’ll also find improvements for Variants, easier invitation management, and a reorganized user menu that now shows your Penpot version and release info.

Typography token: one token to rule your text

With the new Typography token, you can create presets that bundle all your text styles (font, weight, size, line height, spacing, and more) into a single reusable definition.

This is also a big step forward for Penpot. Typography token is our first composite token. Composite tokens can hold several properties in one place. Typography opens the door, and Shadow token will be the next one coming your way.

Variants get a power-up

Variants just got published, and they already come with a solid round of improvements.

  • Switch several variant copies at once. No need to update each one individually. Select multiple copies and change their values in one go.

  • Create variants directly from the design viewport. The new buttons make it quick to spin up variant sets right where you’re working.

  • Reorder component properties by drag and drop. Organize them however you like so your most-used ones stay easy to reach.

A smoother way to manage invitations

The Invitations section just got a big usability upgrade for admins and owners.

  • Sorting. Organize invitations by role type or status.

  • Quicker actions. Resend and delete options are now visible upfront.

  • Bulk management. Select several invitations to resend or delete at once.

User menu makeover

The user menu got a well-deserved cleanup. Options are now grouped into clear sections like Help & Learning and Community & Contributions, making navigation faster and easier.

You’ll also see your current Penpot version right there, with direct access to the changelog. This is especially useful for self-hosted setups that want to stay in sync with the latest updates.

As always, here’s the changelog with the complete list of changes, including enhancements, config adjustments and bugfixes.
