I suggested someone switch from Canva and their first complaint was the lack of font previews in the selector interface.
I have to agree it is pretty unwieldy to have to somehow maintain a searate library of fonts locally with the same list that can be previewed in a gallery app on my workstation just to know what a font will look like before choosing it.
It turns out this was already suggested but rejected for potential performance implications. There must be some way to delay the performance hit, like to only load the fonts when the selector is actually opened, or to create a separate fonts gallery preview component which would be an overlay that takes a few seconds to load the first time.
Can the ticket be re-opened?
