Hi @medetcan

I’m excited to hear that Penpot Fest is coming back in 2025! I’d love to attend—and potentially contribute—so I wanted to ask a few questions.

A quick intro about me: I’m the Design Manager and a maintainer at the AsyncAPI Initiative, an open-source community focused on API specifications and tooling. I also contribute to other OSS communities, including CHAOSS, If-Me, and Knative. Given my background in open source, design, and developer collaboration, I’d love to explore ways to get involved in Penpot Fest.

Here are a few things I’m curious about:

  • Call for Proposals (CFP): Will an open CFP for talks or workshops? If so, when does it open, and what topics are you looking for?

  • Sponsorship & Support: Are there any sponsorship opportunities or travel support options for contributors or speakers?

  • Community Involvement: Besides speaking, are there other ways to participate, like a panel session?

I’d love to understand better how I might contribute to and be part of this event. I’m looking forward to your thoughts!

Best regards,
Aishat Muibudeen

Hey @Maya thank you so much for your well thought out and such lovely message, I do apologise for the delay. I’ll happily get back to all your questions.

  • Your intro and expertise sound exciting indeed. However, this year, we’ve decided not to do a CFP for Penpot Fest. Should we do that for Penpot Fest 2026, you will definitely hear about it. (Did I just confirm Penpot Fest 2026? )
  • We definitely will offer such options for our speakers and panelists. However, rest assured, we also will provide different discounts and offers for exceptional cases, students and such.
  • You can always come join us online as we will do our best to stream it, or yet better, join us in person. To give you a more definitive answer, can you let me know if you are thinking of voluntary involvement or more being on the line-up?

Thanks a lot!

Hey @medetcan

Thanks for your detailed response to my questions and for confiming Penport Fest 2026.

With regards to your last tespinse to my question, is there other ways to being on the speaker line-up apart from the cfp? If yss, I’d livd to hear about it as well as volunteer postion for the fest.

Appreciate your response!

Hey Maya! Sadly the speaker line-up this year will be all manual from the organising committee from our end to ensure we fit the theme perfectly and deliver a seamless experience throughout.

As for volunteer work, while you’d be more than welcomed to show up at the festival, the only volunteers we can logistically support will be from the Madrid vicinity. Otherwise, we’d be thrilled if you can help us spread the word as we will be livestreaming it, too!

Hi everyone,

Looking forward for the next Penpot Fest and happy to have it in a place close to where I live

I would love to attend and comment in person about the project but there is something that makes me difficult to attend and that is the ticket price, 150€ for me is quite a lot of money to spend.
If I want to attend I would have to take some vacations from work too (as my boss won´t let me attend during work time) but that´s not a problem.

What options would be there?

Many thanks

Hey Gabriel,

We will have discount codes and currently these are discounted tickets. In that sense, keep an eye out for further development. I’m sure we can find ways to have a neighbour dropping by to Penpot Fest.
