I was just going to watch a few videos, but the teaching style has resonated with me very well( a good combination of short and long videos).
By the time I noticed what I was doing, I was zooming across Penpot pretty well as a first time user (keyboard shortcuts included!). Looking forward to more of Laura Kalbag’s design course videos. ALSO, the Penpot UI Design Course fun and cute looking website was the hook, so good job with that!

I promise we’re going as fast as we can! We decided to start releasing the course before we’d finished producing all the videos as it allowed us to get feedback and improve the course as we go. If you have any other feedback, I’d love to hear from you

Dear Penpot team, thank you so much and congratulations on this great and well structured course! I’m a web developer and it’s really making sense and I think I’ll end up being a designing dev one day, jeje. I’m wondering how can I contribute being a React/TS dev. Cheers and keep up the great work you’re doing as the goal of this course is really important and makes our world a better place! <3

Any chance there could be an RSS feed added for the course or the option to receive email notifications when new blocks are ready? Looking forward to the remainder of the course but afraid I’ll forget about it in the meantime!

At the end of this post there’s the option to “Watch” it. If you do that, you’ll be notified by email when there are replies to the post. I’ll be sure to add a new reply/update this post when the next part of the course is out.
And I’m sorry for the delay. I’ve had back problems that ended up with surgery a couple of months ago, so I wasn’t able to record any new videos, but they are coming!

These videos helped me make this responsive design in Penpot in really short time:
The flex and grid tutorials especially were really helpful. I did not know how to use Penpot before these tutorials.
I wonder though if the videos can also be streamed at 720p? My internet is great, but not everybody has that privilege. Currently its all 2160p for the tutorials. I think Peertube can transcode to desired resolutions with a click of button (but this might be wishful thinking). It would also end up using more storage space.

I’m looking into it. I’ve got a big 2x screen, so I try to record the whole screen and zoom the Penpot interface to strike a balance between readable UI text and canvas space to work inside. Unfortunately this does make for mega video files!
Your suggestion 720p sounds very reasonable, and I think it shouldn’t be too difficult to choose perhaps one smaller size. You’re right, the struggle with self-hosted platforms is that storage space is expensive.
Forgive me if I’m asking an ignorant question, because I’m not the audiovisual expert here 
but does the auto option do anything useful for you?
I’m not entirely sure either, I have also never been an uploader on Peertube myself but I did some testing switching the vidoes from 2160p to auto , and that re-downloads the preloaded video buffer but does not change the resolution (still 2160p). I think on auto it will measure your internet speed and then choose one of the available resolutions.
What I’m running into might be one of 2 options: either because auto recognizes my internet speed is fast and keeps 2160p, or because there is no other resolution/bitrate available for it to stream, because HLS transcoding had not been configured.
I searched around and these docs mention picking the resolutions in a some kind of menu (for Video On Demand):
