I can’t use “penpot” properly

I don’t know if it’s just me, but penpot is really slow on my computer. Whenever I move the cursor, zoom in, click on something, etc., I have to wait 1-2 seconds before the tool responds.

I saw that it works a little better when using Chrome. Not in my case

I downloaded the desktop app thinking that would solve the problem. Same thing, if not worse.

Penpot seems like a very interesting competitor to Figma, but honestly, it’s unusable for me.

I’m running on a Macbook M2.

Do you have the same issue?
If so, do you know how to fix it?
Does it’s better if its sel-hosted ?

This issue has already been identified and is being actively worked on at the moment. The post It’s time for Penpot to (almost) move away from the DOM might be of an interest to you. This problem is going to be fixed by the new renderer (in development) and that should be ready soon.
