This Penpot Desktop app is still under active development and it’s not officially supported but we wholeheartedly encourage anyone to try it out and see if it suits their needs.
Important note: It’s core use case is to have an easy Desktop-like experience with Penpot even at the expense of not making such installation easily accessible by other users outside your computer or laptop. Since you can import/export Penpot projects across any Penpot instance, this could very well be your “offline” companion, particularly if you work on Penpot mostly on your own,
Running the setup curl script in a terminal and then doing the apt command (for Debian) worked all OK. The icon was missing when I ran the app and pinned it to the taskbar, so I just right clicked the sliver and did a App preferences → Configure and then selected an icon for it.
I have not dug into it too much yet, but did the login and all seems to be working.
This was performed in Virtualbox VM with Linux Mint Debian Edition 6 (LMDE).
