Experience with Ramby.ai?

Hi all,

have somebody tried the plugin Penpot Plugin | Rapid Prototyping with AI ?
After entering a prompt, I receive the error notification: API settings are not configured.
Is there any documentation out there how to do it? (I havn´t found any).

Thanks a lot for your help in advance and see you at the Penpot Fest tomorrow :raising_hands:

Sorry, I have not tried it, I usually do this by my self without any AI tools. Just because it’s my job to express my idea behind the prototype.

Maybe try to send a ticket for a bug report?

Yeah, there are many reasons to build the prototype without AI. My motivation is to show what’s possible and its limitations.
Sending a ticket is a good idea, I’ll do that.
Thank you Iskren for your help :folded_hands:

Update:
The support unfortunately couldn´t help me with the plugin.
Since I also couldn´t find the contact of the contributor of the plugin to ask them, I´ve reported the plugin now.

Update:
There was unfortunately no response to the report till today.
Nothing happened, so I feel like reporting it was useless.

You need to use your own API key from one of the supported providers (OpenAI or Anthropic).

Click the Settings icon, select AI Service, enter your API key in the API Key field, and click Save.
The plugin will use your key to run the tasks.

Dear Juan, thanks for your reply.
I had entered the API key from OpenAI/ChatGPT (months ago) but this led to an error message.
And I don’t have an API key for Claude.
So I guess, this feature it not working (for me but maybe also for others)
Best,
Vika

Hi Vika!

I just tested it right before writing here and it worked for me using ChatGPT. What error are you getting?

What I did was go to https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/api-keys, create an API key with all permissions enabled, and then copy the Secret Key into the Penpot plugin.

Hi Juan,

I was about to try it again with your description but now the plug-in seems to be no longer available. While it’s still listed on Google and the Penpot plug-in-list Penpot Plugins | Detailed page you see the following result: No matching published entries found.

Sorry Vika,

We were just updating the plugin details page. Could you check again? Penpot Plugin | Rapid Prototyping with AI

Good morning Juan,

the error message just states “An error occurred while processing the AI call.” without further specifying it.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.

One way to get more details about the error is the following: using Chrome, open the dev tools with F12, go to the Network tab, then click on Generate design.

In the Network tab you should see a request highlighted in red. If you click on it and open the Preview tab, you should be able to see more details about the error.

I’m attaching a GIF where I use an incorrect API key, so you can see how to access more details about the error.
