Can't upload .woff fonts inconsistency

Hello,
I have recently started tranferring my figma projects to penpot and have encountered an issue related to the fonts that has me puzzled.

Through the dialog window I can’t import any fonts that aren’t .ttf for most fonts. This means I can’t use any fonts that are .woff or .otf.

On other fonts .otf or .ttf are accepted, but never .woff. I tried converting some .otf fonts to .woff through transfonter with no luck.

I currently use macOS sequoia 15.3.2 and zen browser, unsure if this information is of any use.
