Assets not synced with whole document

Hi,

Here are my steps :

  • I create a color asset.
  • I apply the asset to any object.
  • I change the color afterwards through assets menu by editing the asset, not renaming, just changing the color.
  • But then the color unlinks itself from the object and stays in the color it was in.

I’m a teacher and had a good experience with my first student group at 10 CET yesterday, changing a color or typography from assets applying on the whole file, but then the assets got unlinked for no reason.

My students are all importing the same .penpot file, and had different experiences over the day. I myself tried this process with a completely blank new file, and I noticed the same issue.

We are not self-hosted, we run penpot from penpot’s servers, so I wonder if it’s related to an update made yesterday ?

This is a bug, and we are already looking into it. We hope to have it fixed soon.
