I’d really love to be able to rename tokens without breaking references. From the pov of building out a design system from scratch, it’s very limiting to have to nail down the naming/grouping/hierarchy systems right at the start, or risk having to relink broken references. i should ideally, as a user, have the freedom to make and edit my system, and through trial and error come to a stable one. the ability to experiment, with the tool taking care of keeping track, and without fear of breaking things, I think would be reeeeeally helpful.
