Self-hosted Offline Setup Questions

Hi,

I’m trying to use the self-hosted version and trying to install it on my servers, and I have few questions right now if anybody can help:

1- Does the server need internet connection, or the client, or both?
2- If my client has a connection to the backend, does it still require internet?
3- What specific features requires internet connection and what data is sent to the internet?
4- To setup offline where can I download the image of Penpot?

I am not Pro or not used self-hosted in penpot, but as Devloper here’s what I understand and can suggest:-

  1. No internet required for open penpot, if self-host means Local host then client and you both need enternet.
  2. if your work on local host then you client must be in same wi-fi other vise hosting server can assec via public like (versol, github) connection
  3. in penpot most of feature are inbuild and you can use without internet, if want downlaod libs and resource it can collete data depending on web.
    By default, no personal or design data is sent externally, unless:
  • You’re using cloud-hosted services.
  • You’re fetching online libraries or updates manually.
    • may be it in build but if not go to git repo or serch in internet for penpot img
