When I paste SVG code in my file. I want the actual SVG shape to be pasted instead of the text. Thanks.

Our team has recently reviewed this feature request and, unfortunately, it is something that we won’t be able to address at this time.
When you paste or import an SVG, it is treated like an SVG node and converting it to a format that Penpot can support would mean losing information about the text or having a text that is not properly placed.
When I copy paste SVG icons from React Icons, it works as expected.
I’m using the Developer tools to get to the SVG element, perhaps that does something extra to make it work.
