I am a non dev designer wanting to make a nice looking web based db and am at the stage of choosing the platform, or the stack of technologies which will link together to define the platform.
I developed a few dbs in the 90’s in Filemaker Pro, and 4D, which worked great as all -in-one solutions for back end and UX design. I want to make this new db in a suite of open source or at least modern alternatives to these all in one solutions which are outdated.
Penpot looks good for the UX design. What combinations of middleware and back end are commonly used to fill up the rest of the stack?
Is there a tried and true combination which will allow me to do the UX design and hire a dev to build the connections to the backend, Postgres or MongoDB or supabase or something else?
I don’t think it is viable for me to learn to do the coding myself at this point, or rely only on AI tools.
