Developers: what do you always wish designers knew or did?

I’ve asked this on my socials, but realised I’d love input from the Penpot community!

I’m exploring some ideas for a talk, but as someone who does a bit of both design and frontend, I don’t have much insight into more separate roles…

So, developers: what do you always wish designers knew or did when you’re working together?

Is there anything that really frustrates you? Something one designer did that made your work easier?

Here’s one from me from years ago… as a dev I had to explain there were too many photo backgrounds in a landing page design. The images would either make the page load slowly or we’d have to compress them so the quality would not be the same as in the design.

Somewhat interesting to see that you ask yourself what the impact is on the front end while there is also something like a back end.
