Hi team,
I’m currently experimenting with agentic AI workflows in Penpot. Right now, keeping an active browser tab open seems mandatory for the agent to connect to Penpot (correct me if I’m wrong). This requirement defeats the purpose of autonomous agency.
Ideally, I want to let the agent work in the background so I can review its progress asynchronously. Requiring an active tab for the MCP connection prevents true autonomous, background execution.
Please consider allowing agents to connect directly via the MCP server, enabling them to query available projects/canvases and perform tasks without needing an open browser session.projects/canvas and make the work without an active browser tab. ![]()
