Issue Summary: Users find it challenging to locate the “Share link” feature in Penpot. The current placement—a small “View” icon in the top right corner—makes it less noticeable. Additionally, the terminology “View” may not intuitively suggest “Sharing” to all users.
Proposed Solution: To enhance discoverability, it’s suggested to introduce two distinct buttons in the header during edit mode:
- “Share link”: Directly provides the sharing link.
- “View page”: Switches to the view mode.
This adjustment aims to make the sharing functionality more accessible and intuitive.
Alternative Considerations: Users have also searched for the “Share link” option within various menus, indicating that placing the sharing feature in more prominent or multiple locations could be beneficial.
Current Status: The issue is labeled as an enhancement and has been moved to Penpot’s project management platform at Taiga.io for further tracking and resolution.
