Feature Request – Full Figma File Import (Styles & Componen

Hi Penpot team and community,

I’d love to suggest a feature that would make Penpot even more powerful and accessible for teams transitioning from Figma:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: The ability to import Figma files with full support for styles, components, and variants.

Currently, importing designs from Figma often requires manual reconstruction of:

  • Global styles (colors, typography, effects)

  • Components and their variants

  • Layout structures and auto-layout settings

Having a seamless import process would:

  • Greatly reduce onboarding friction

  • Encourage more designers and developers to adopt Penpot

  • Enable hybrid workflows between tools

This feature would be a game-changer for teams already working in Figma but looking to explore or migrate to Penpot.
