Background grids vs grid layouts

I’ve written something new for the Penpot blog which is half-explainer half-tutorial on the difference between background grids and grid layouts.

As I spent a while creating demo materials for this blog post, I thought it might be worth sharing the demo file with the community:

Background grid vs. layout grid.penpot (960.2 KB)

It’s not really self-explanatory enough to share to Penpot’s Libraries and Templates but it might be helpful to those who like to dig into files to understand how the demos work

Hi @LauraKalbag,

CSS Grid really helps build a sophisticated layout because Flexbox can get over-nested when used for page layout.
I also like the newspaper example; it is a good exercise for understanding how to use a grid, and it is still a basic way to learn graphic design and book publishing.

Thanks for sharing all these resources.
