Hey everyone, I was wondering about this functionality when duplicating boards. Why does penpot append a number on all items and all groups when duplicating the board? From what I can tell, the layer names don’t have to be unique, and when creating multiple versions of a board, it pollutes names of all layers with a number that references a different board. I usually rename these layers back by hand, but this seems very tedious.

This is something that we definitely want to change (here’s [the story](https://tree.taiga.io/project/penpot/us/4036)), but somehow it never make it into our prioritizaiton.

We’ll do it eventually. Also, we’re making a list of enhancements that appear to be good for contributions and this one seems to be a good candidate.
