# Vibe coding in Penpot - roadmap?

Just heard that [Figma is entering the vibe coding space](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/05/07/figma-launches-premium-figma-make-vibe-coding-ai-software-designer.html)

What could be the components for building an open source vibe coding stack inside Penpot?

Any thoughts about a roadmap?

As someone that does it, I can openly say ‘vibe coding’ is a shambles. It can sometimes get it right but more often though it gets things wrong. In an iterative coding environment with git branches it’s not so bad if it suddenly butchers all your work.

I just feel design is a different discipline and uses a different workflow. I feel very uneasy about ‘vibe coding’ entwined with design.

This is just my personal opinion though and as always, I’m happy to be proven wrong. 😊

As a designer, I don’t think coding should be available in a design tool, it just looses its primary focus designer\coder handoff.

Figma became too focused on money and adding features that make the tool heavy and loosing the primary objective.
