# Please remember my ruler visibility preference

I need those few pixels to make sweet looking rectangles on my tiny screen. Having to toggle the ruler off with Shift+CMD+R every time I open a file is getting a little annoying.

This makes a lot of sense. I’ve raised [this enhancement at GitHub](https://github.com/penpot/penpot/issues/4586) as good first issue so it will eventually be shown on the GH [contribute page](https://github.com/penpot/penpot/contribute), because it seems like it could be a good one for a community contribution.
