# Penpot 2.6: Only way out 🔓

Looks handy indeed for certain applications. Is there any knowledge whether the API will be adapted/expanded so that you can edit plugin tokens via the API? In addition, should the API be updated, it would be useful to include the following as well [API example for modifing a text component](https://community.penpot.app/t/api-example-for-modifing-a-text-component/8297)

Somehow I hope now that this release has been released some more people from Penpot are back active among the community on the forum…
