# Negative spread in Shadow Tokens

When creating shadow, you can use negative spread, however, when creating shadow token, it can’t be used.  
”Spread value cannot be negative” error

Yup! Same problem here:  
And as far as I know, we can have negative values for spread in drop shadow, right?

Hey! I can confirm this is a bug. We already have [the solution](https://github.com/penpot/penpot/pull/8167) on the way.
