All the features in your list are nice to haves.
But component states and basic prototyping features like scrolling elements are must haves. Can’t use Penpot for prototyping until it has those. I wouldn’t want you to prioritise anything in your above list over these.
Paste to replace would be my top nice to have.

I am looking to use penpot for game UI design. Currently I use Figma and I am creating a script that imports designs from Figma into Godot [via json](https://github.com/yagudaev/figma-to-json). If Penpot can export details via json, I can process it and use that info to recreate design layouts in game engines like Godot. Please add a json export option

My primary concern as well. As long as Penpot isn’t on par with Figma on a performance point of view, I won’t be switching.
My secondary concern would be to have a dedicated macOS App.
My third concern would be to be able to use Penpot offline.

I can’t use PenPot until super basic functionality like overflow: scroll is implemented.
I would love if these design tools stopped hiding so much basic CSS stuff. If you are built on CSS rendering then adding a simple scroll x/y/auto toggle should not be difficult.

For emphasis, I also need to point out the need for improved performance. I refuse to use Penpot until I am able to zoom and pan as smoothly as I can in Figma on my MacBook Pro or iPad Pro Magic Keyboard trackpad. Of note, I’ve been waiting for improvements in this area for a very long time.

Please consider adding the “ **Object-fit** ” property somehow for the images.
Right now we only have the option to change the aspect ratio or not, which is great, but it doesn’t solve when we need an image to be like contained or covered while we are resizing the container (board in Penpot in this case).
This will be very helpful, and I really need more image control options for different image design layouts.
This image below is an example what I mean by what I am looking for (and maybe others also).

Hello everyone! Figured it’d be nice to share an update from our side.
Thank you so much for all the feedback, we are more than lucky to have such supporting members in our community.
I can confirm that almost all these requests and enhancement suggestions are regularly looked into and find their place within our roadmap based on their alignment with our plans.
We definitely hear you on the performance end and yes, I’m happy to say that this is actively being worked on. 🙂 We have hinted upcoming changes to our rendering engine in the recent events and hopefully in the next few months you will be able to experience the significant changes firsthand! 🙌 🚀

For me it would be these:
1.Font rendering, still has issues.
2. Prototype interactions (horizontal scroll/paging, vertical scroll) maybe some controls over changing states or properties in mouse over/out. maybe super neat, if we can have inputs where people can type or variables and conditionals for prototyping flows.

Being even more visible than it already is, on Fosstodon, Youtube and Instagram, there are regular updates on Penpot. On [X (twitter)](https://x.com/penpotapp) not always, for example I can’t find the announcement of the plugin contest. On [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Penpot/), I don’t think anything official is posted as well as on [Product Hunter](https://www.producthunt.com/products/penpot/shoutouts). Is it possible to create an Penpot account on [Pinterest](https://www.pinterest.com) like [Canva](https://www.pinterest.com/canva/) and also create an account on [Dribbble](https://dribbble.com/) and/or [BlueSky](https://bsky.app/)?
On Reddit in the Penpot group is there an Penpot moderator?

Is it also possible to ask [IconScout](https://iconscout.com/) to build an [plugin](https://penpot.app/penpothub/plugins) for Penpot?
They already have done it for Figma, Canva, … see [IconScout Plugins](https://iconscout.com/plugins/).
Same with [Icons8](https://icons8.com/icons) those are their [plugins](https://icons8.com/app).

I believe these might all be in active development, but wanting to upvote:
- Expand/convert stroke to path
- Expand/convert text to path
- Multi-stop gradients _(Already in the 2.5 release, thank you!!)_
- Reset bounding box after transform
- Copy/Paste properties of an object (via context menu and shortcut on Mac: `Option+Cmd+C/V` and Windows: `Ctrl+Alt+C/V`)

We have Zendesk chat available on our webpage, but not within the workspace, as it overlaps with key interface elements.
We are exploring ways to integrate the chat without significantly interfering with the interface. If you have any suggestions on how to achieve this without a major restructuring of our interface, we’d greatly appreciate your input.
