Penpot has already shown that there is much to gain for product teams when they can share the same tool for both design and code. Our Flex Layout feature has made people really excited about a new era of collaboration freedom between designers and developers.
It’s no surprise that developers are asking if they could “export” designs created in Penpot to some JavaScript framework scaffolding. The short answer is that Penpot doesn’t have that capability yet because we first need to ship our Architecture Plugin so everyone can decide how to implement their favourite code-generation add-on.
We are prioritizing Penpot’s concept as a Platform so that the whole community can innovate on top of it while the core team focus on technological challenges, gitops integrations, performance improvements and bringing scaling-up capabilities to designs.
