I think most of the time the snapping is amazing and works as expected. Eg: when resizing rectangle, etc

The one notable exception is the initial click and drag when starting to create a new shape. That just won’t snap to the corect item. It feels like it’s impossible to get it to snap to anything. It’s funny that when I resize the item it snaps happily, so perhaps it’s an easy fix.

Thanks

Hi @hza,

Thank you for the suggestion 🙂

We have a user story already in our backlog to look into improving this but it hasn’t been prioritized yet, you can find the details [here](https://tree.taiga.io/project/penpot/us/3052?backlog-q=3052&no-milestone=1).

I’d like to bump this one with an “I’m interested too”. Especially snapping guides to existing layers would help immensely. I often block out a layout using rectangles, then move guides to their edges and delete the rectangles.
